Jason Bennett
President

Jason Bennett first plunged into politics when he interned at US Senator Patty Murray’s office in the spring of 1997. Shortly following the internship, Jason accepted a position in the Washington State Legislature with the office of State Rep. Jeff Morris. Nearly two years later, Jason caught the campaign bug and moved over to the House Democratic Campaign Committee as their Operations Director where he helped secure the majority for House Democrats in Nov. 2001.

In early 2005, he decided to form Argo Strategies. In his spare time, Jason has served on the Seattle Mayor’s Citizens Technology and Telecommunications Advisory Board, was an elected Queen Anne Community Councilmember and was a “site restoration steward” for Pipers Creek in Carkeek Park. He has served on the boards of Equal Rights Washington, the National Women’s Political Caucus of Washington, the Young Democrats of Washington, and the 36th District Democrats. Jason also served as Executive Director for the Institute for a Democratic Future. Jason has been honored with the 2010 Magnuson Award by the Washington State Democrats for “Democrat of the Year,” the Young Democrats of Washington’s 2006 “Half Lifetime Achievement Award, Aristotle’s “Dream Team for Compliance” Award, and more than 30 Reed, Pollie, and Goldie Awards for his campaign work.

 

Carlos Chaverst, Jr.
Director of Campaigns

Carlos Chaverst Jr. was born and raised in Pratt City & Ensley, Al. He currently lives in Denver, Colorado with his wife. This young professional is the eldest of four. He previously served as a committee assistant for Birmingham City Councilor Sheila Tyson. In addition, Mr. Chaverst has worked with various national, state and local elections. Including working with the Tom Steyer 2020 presidential campaign, The Democratic National Committee, Bernie Sanders 2016 election, President Obama’s 2012 re-election campaign and a host of other elections. In April 2023, Carlos presented a TEDx Talk at the University of Colorado Boulder entitled, Understanding Racism & Privilege to Provide Equity for All. Mr. Chaverst Jr was also the recipient of the Protector of the Flame Freedom Award presented by the Selma Bridge Crossing Jubilee. In addition to politics, Carlos has worked with media organizations such as CNN, MSNBC, Fox News, and has served as a contributor to Huffington Post.

 

Jessica Gavre
Principal

Jessica was born and raised in the South Sound. She attended Tacoma Community College and the University of Washington Tacoma where she received her BASW and MSW degrees. She began her professional career working in community organizing around social justice issues, particular those impacting women and the LGBTQ community. In 2009 she helped organize field work for the Approve Referendum 71 Campaign, which successfully secured domestic partnership benefits for same sex couples.

Shortly after, she was hired as Campaign Manager for Laurie Jinkins in her first race for Washington State House of Representatives and later served as her Legislative Aide. In 2013, she was hired as the Development Director for YWCA Pierce County where she has worked for the past six years. 

She is currently a board member of South Sound Women’s Leadership, a Political Action Committee committed to electing progressive women in the Pierce County area and working to end and prevent sexual harassment in politics.

 
 

Ethan Stern-Ellis
Compliance and Campaign Assistant

Ethan is living in Tacoma after graduating from the University of Puget Sound in 2021 with a double major in computer science and politics & government. He first got involved in Washington politics in 2020 when he worked on Derek Kilmer's congressional campaign and interned for a local progressive consulting firm.

Since graduating, he has started his career as a software developer and managed his first city council race in Puyallup. He is passionate about helping progressive candidates get elected and is eager to do so with Argo strategies.
